Ground Zero: What's the Holdup?

It's now 5 years since 9/11. You may wonder, why hasn't construction started on (a) new building(s)? Watch this video to see why. BTW, it reminds me of my trip to Hawaii a few years ago. I was driving from the airport to my hotel in downtown Honolulu and I didn't see a single sign for anything Pearl Harbor related--it was as if someone wanted to hide it. During my trip, I walked around downtown Honolulu and I saw all these signs for Japanese restaurants in Japanese. I have no problem with that--I love other cultures. I walked into one of these with my family and friends and we were the only Americans there, except for a very nice waitress, who was bi-lingual. But when we walked in the Japanese looked at us as if, "What the fuck are you doing here?" I enjoyed the dinner, it was very good food, but I felt out of place, as if this wasn't America. I subconsciously felt that the Japanese customers were saying you don't belong here, this is our space. But what bothered me even more was that it was very hard to find the Pearl Harbor Memorial! As I've just pointed out, it's as if someone wanted to forget about it. Business and economics is more important!

This piece by Penn and Teller
reminds me of that. It's good to forgive, but never forget! And BTW, would the ones who attacked forgive us if we attacked them?

One other note--this is an example of government bureaucracy at its best. In Las Vegas, they would have built it in 2 years or less. In "communist" China, it would have probably been done even sooner. No wonder the tallest building in New York City was built in 1931 (not to undermine the attacks of 9/11)!
